Having developed from the mid 1990’s Celtic Manor has been set up to cater for all in large numbers giving excellent service and new age golf. The three courses here are Wentwood Hills the Championship venue and 2010 Ryder Cup venue, Roman Road course and the Coldra Woods course.
The Roman Road covers 7000 yards and runs along the ridge of Coldra Hill straddling the ancient Roman highway. Coldra Woods is much shorter but perfectly formed. Filled with beauty it criss-crosses a lake-filled valley with magnificent natural ravines. The Championship Wentwood Hills layout, although youthful, is mature beyond its years. Significant is its world class standard and it has been host venue to the Welsh Open since 2000 and a firm favourite with the European Tour.
The course has dramatic sweeping landscape with amazing views where rivers run from the mountains to protect, Welsh valleys naturally contour every fairway and thick ancient forests frame this long championship course into a masterpiece. |
