St Pierre Golf Course
Situated within St. Pierre Park in Chepstow the surroundings are simply breathtaking. The land was originally a deer park and contains an 11 acre lake at the centre of the Old course. The second course called the Mathern is also an excellent adventure but much shorter than its championship sister.

The signature hole on the championship Old Course is probably the 18th. Saving the best till last this 237 yard Par 3 requires a precision iron that has to avoid a lake to the front, trees all down the left side and the historic 14th century country mansion hotel in the background and if that’s not enough to put you off remember it has been known to take 11 shots to finish this hole. What a wonderful way to end the day.

The Old course has been host to numerous European Tour events down through the years with such notable winners as Seve Ballesteros, Langer, Norman and their very own Ian Woosnam have triumphed here. It was also host to the Solheim Cup in 1996 and the Welsh Masters in 2000.

Description
The choice of courses in England is almost endless for the discerning golf visitor. There are mighty seaside links such as those of Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake, where the Amateur Championship was born and where Bobby Jones won the Open Championship in his historic Grand Slam year of 1930. There is plenty of historic interest in English golf, with the oldest existing course in England and Westward Ho in Devon. The club was formed there in 1864 and today sheep continue to grace the ancient links on this common land.
